WORKING BEE AND JANUARY WATERING ROSTER THANKS

Back on Friday 24th January a small but hard-working group of parents came to the working bee back to school spruce up. Sincere thanks to Bronwyn Tracey with Sam and Ava, Tony Taylor and Blair Venn with Luca, for getting the grounds looking terrific in time for the start of school. We’d also like to thank the watering team who kept plants and chooks alive during the summer break: Julie Roberts, Terry Willis, Catrina Weiss, Fiona Johnston, Chris Hooper, Helen Kaptein, Leentje Dunne, Julie Roberts, Helen Weir, Jason Newton, Shera Blaise, Lisa Kearns, Paz Parry, Blair Venn, Bianca Alvarez Harris and Bronwyn Tracey.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE THANKS – WHAT A GREAT EVENING!

It was lovely seeing so many families attend our welcome back event last week. The Gaga pit had a great work out and food was all eaten – always a bonus! Thanks to everyone who came and supported this event as well as staff who were on hand cooking and organising games, and parents who brought salads to share. The delicious sausages and veggie burgers were from Cliffords, and Bakers Delight generously donated loaves of bread. Check out the photos on Facebook and Instagram.

PREP – YEAR 3 MEET AND GREET INTERVIEWS NEXT WEEK

On Thursday 27th February you will have the opportunity to meet with teachers to talk about the individual needs of your child. We have sent home a questionnaire to guide the conversation, with the expectation that this is an opportunity for parents and carers to meet the 2020 teacher or re-connect if they are continuing from 2019. Bookings to be made on XUNO, our communication platform.

.

YEAR 4 – YEAR 6 MEET AND GREET INTERVIEWS 5TH MARCH

Once again on Thursday 5th March you will have the opportunity to meet with teachers from Years 4-6 to talk about the individual needs of your child. Again this is an opportunity for parents and carers in the Senior Learning Community to meet the 2020 teacher and re-connect if they are continuing from 2019. A questionnaire was sent home with students in Week 1. Bookings to be made on XUNO, our communication platform.

Message from the Department

We understand that there may be some anxiety in the community around students attending school camps and excursions in regional areas. As Victoria recovers from the bushfires, it is important that we help our regional communities to get back on their feet by continuing to visit and to travel to Victorian camps.

Our upcoming camps and excursions include a Kryal Castle chess excursion on 20th March and a 2/3 Camp to Campaspe Downs on 24th and 25th March.

We will continue to work closely with the Department to ensure student safety and remain vigilant in monitoring local conditions.

Your continued support of our regional communities is greatly appreciated.

Hello from the School Crossing Team!!

We are pleased to be back for another school year and thought it would be helpful to remind your School Community of some important points about the crossing.

·        Johnstone Street crossing is manned between 8.15am to 9.00am AND 3.15pm to 3.55pm. Ray Street crossing is manned between 8.20am to 9.00am AND 3.15pm to 3.55pm.

·        Pedestrians should always use the School Crossing when the flags are out and a Supervisor is present.

·        Pedestrians must wait behind the white line for the Supervisor to go onto road and stop the traffic – you can cross when you hear 2 whistle blasts.

·        Do not ride bikes, scooters etc across the crossing and do not bounce balls.

·        Drivers must approach the school crossing at the designated speed limit and be alert for the Supervisor entering the road.

·        Drivers must wait until everyone (including the Supervisor) is completely off the crossing before proceeding.

·        Drivers should respect the parking signs around the school and never park within 20m before a school crossing or 10m after it.
