BACK TO REMOTE AND FLEXIBLE LEARNING

Following Sunday’s announcements, here we are again with remote and flexible learning. I congratulate all students, staff and families for adapting so quickly to the news. Once again we are continuing to follow advice from the latest Operations Guide, as distributed to all schools in Victoria by the Department of Education and Training and will keep you up to date via email, XUNO, and our socials with any new developments as they arise.

.

MID-YEAR INTERVIEWS

There are still sessions available next week for Parent-Teacher interviews. These can be booked through XUNO. This is a great opportunity to discuss learning goals for your children for this semester and let us know how we can further support your remote learning experiences. If you are unable to meet during the scheduled times, please use Xuno to contact your child’s teacher to arrange an alternative.

.

BUILDINGS: SO CLOSE!

The work is progressing well and at this stage I can report:

  • Finishing touches to floor coverings, shelving and electrical fittings
  • Sinks and joinery installed
  • Decking on all buildings being installed

If all goes well we’re due for completion in a couple of weeks.

PARENT/CARER TESTIMONIALS

We’re still working on getting our message to the wider community about the fabulous things we offer as a school, as part of our enrolment drive.

Something that resonates strongly with parents who are seeking a school for their child, is what parents and carers of children already at the school have to say.

If you would like to add a short, positive quote about Winters Flat PS to our website please email it to winters.flat.ps@education.vic.gov.au

We’re also working on a virtual tour to post on the website.

2021 Prep Enrolments

If you have a child starting school next year, please contact the office for an Enrolment Pack. We are starting to plan our classes for next year now and need to know numbers.

.

2/3 Camp

Unfortunately the 2/3 Camp has had to be postponed again. The new dates are the 15th and 16th October.

.

Attendance

During this Remote Learning period, we are still required by law to keep attendance record of all students.
Each day, each student's teacher will be making contact. If the student does not respond to their teacher by 9am the next morning, they will be marked 'unexplained'. In this instance, you will receive an SMS, as per our normal attendance procedures.

If you could please support the school by ensuring you are logging onto XUNO/Webex/email every day and engaging with the teacher.
Alternatively, please log your child/ren's absence each morning through our usual channels (phone call, XUNO, email, schoolzine) if they will not be participating in online learning for the day.

For showing Care for Self by having a great start to the term and looking to not “sweat the small stuff”, particularly with your work on the group assignment. You should be very proud of what you and your group achieved. It was amazing!! Well done..

Lucinda N

For showing Care for Self and Others. Lucy, you are always willing to roll up your sleeves and just get the things done that nobody else seems to want to deal with. You always have a 'no fuss' attitude and you are always ready to show such care for others by simply saying 'I will'- simple as that. Thank you Lucy, what an awesome attitude!

REMOTE LEARNING

All activities for Remote Learning are available on our website here.

Children and families can also get involved with 'Kitchen Garden Program at Home with Coles' which features some great videos of recipes being cooked by chefs.

Remember, all our recipes are available on our school website, so you can try them at home.
